Anyway Wedding Rings doesn't have to be so expensive just to show your special someone how much they mean to you. Wedding Rings are used as a symbol of your love or should I say your "marriage." It indicates that a person is already married. It has become a common tradition that Wedding Rings should be made out of Gold, but nowadays, due to the Gold's price in the market some even consider using Silver metal or Stainless Steel. As I've said, it doesn't have to be that expensive as a basis for your love but still you might want to give her something decent right?
So here's the thing, I've seen a lot of couples going to "Silver Stores" to look for wedding rings I was curious about this because we are also looking for affordable Wedding Bands but did not consider getting one from any "Silver Stores" of course I'm not being hypocrite or anything but hey I'm a girl and I want my wedding no matter how simple it is become memorable. So I'll go for a Gold. At least it's more classy in my own opinion. So out of curiosity I asked the store clerk if I could look at their wedding rings and how much would it cost me and to my surprised, the price for their silver are about the same as Gold. believe it or not its true.. their silver ring would cost you about 1000-3000php each not pair. But I admit they also have great designs and some would even look like its made from White Gold in the distance. Rings made out of Tungsten are also available at around 4-7k each.
Still a little pricey right? Here's a tip, if your looking for affordable wedding rings I suggest stop visiting the malls, as for this I think you know why. Yes, it's safer buying jewelries in a mall but their price is somewhat doubled or even tripled than other jewelry stores. If you have the budget why not? but if you don't You should try Ongpin located in Binondo for its the Gold Capital of the Philippines right? BUT, beware because some of the stores there actually carries FAKE Jewelries for sale so I suggest that...,
1. If you knew someone who knows a Legit Jewelry store there asked them the store's name, much better if you have someone with you who knows how to tell a Genuine Gold from a fake.
2. Always remember the Jewelry Store's Name and asked for receipt. make sure that the name/address in the receipt are the same as the store's.
3. If you have a "chinese" friend or relative take them with you..why? most of the store owners there love to sell their items to a fellow chinese and it will be much easier for them to give you discounts ;)
4. When having doubts or even if you don't, its much better to have your wedding rings or other jewelry purchased to an appraiser, or just go to a pawnshop and have your jewelry appraised if its genuine or fake, checked the weight and karat if its same as what the store owner/clerk told you and if its also the same as the one written in your receipt.
To give you an idea, the price range for Gold Wedding rings differs from its weight, design and Karat. the truth, we bought our wedding rings in Ongpin and we are happy about it. I've seen a lot of designs even the one you saw at the malls for a cheaper price. There, you can buy wedding rings for 2000-3000 each depending on the design and weight of course..some are even less 5000php for a pair. you might even find a perfect wedding ring for you and all you have to do is look! BUT, again beware if the wedding ring comes so cheap. there's a 75% chance its fake or its only "gold plated"
All the things and prices I've mentioned here are based on my own experience and as a bonus I'm going to share where we bought are rings so that you'll have a headstart on where to look and I can guarantee you its genuine gold as I already have it checked..
We bought it here: (the store owner gave me her business card and I'm not related to her ok?)
TY PO HUAT GOLDSMITH

once you enter the store you will notice there's a big glass display there, its actually divided into 3 owners. Yes, TY PO HUAT is the store name but there are actually 3 jewelry stores inside. We bought our wedding ring from the one farthest from the entrance. The 3rd stand. Look for Betty Sy she's very nice and accommodating. oh and lastly, they offer free engraving and a jewelry box. Hope this helps..Happy Hunting and I'm Wishing you all the Best!

Thank you so much for finding this blog helpful. I'm really glad you guys appreciated my blog and find it informative. As much as possible I want to update some of the info here without removing the original content to avoid confusion.
1. Mrs. Betty Sy move out from Ty Po Huat to start her own jewelry shop. You can visit her shop at Goldfinity Gifts Shop Company at 921 Ongpin St. which is 1 block away from Ty Po Huat near PNB Allied Bank and in front of Manosa Restaurant.
2. Ty Po Huat is still operational. Like what I've said before it's a shop with 3 tenants.
So to sum it up, now you have 2 known Jewelry shop to visit when you go to Ongpin.
HAPPY HUNTING! =)
